Why does a Bird Sing about?

When you hear a bird singing, it is difficult to realize that all that sound may net be just for the joy of living. A bird often sings because it is warm in the sunshine, because it has just found a nice juicy worm, or just because it feels like singing. But a bird sings for other reasons.
Usually the male bird sing when he wishes to attract the attention of a female bird, and later when he and his mate are building their nest. He also sings to warn off other males and to make known his right to his territory.
Birds have other ways, besides song, of communicating with each other. If you have ever heard the wild cries of a mother robin when a cat prowls near her nest, you will know that birds can express fear and anxiety. But they never do this in song. When a bird sing, it usually at ease and in good health.
